Rubber ducks. On cruise ships. Hide and seek.
In 2018, an 11-year-old girl decided she wanted to Hide rubber ducks on her Carnival cruise to make others smile if/when they found them. In 2024, there are duck hunters and hiders across many cruise lines, all over the country and world. There are multiple Facebook pages dedicated to connecting the hider and the seeker. You can buy all yellow, multiple colors, dressed for the holidays, all different sizes.
This cruise, my husband decided he wanted to hide ducks for kids on this cruise to practice for when he can hide them with Everly, our granddaughter in October 2024. It will be a Halloween cruise so he is excited to hide the Halloween ducks with the grand little.
On this cruise, he had about 100 to hide. Why did some of the ducks come back? We found that we left our cabin and forgot to take them so we could hide them along the way. Now we have 130 for our next cruise.
