Spanish as a first or second language

I have many people in my life, in my work, and in my town, that speak Spanish. When the manager at the office I work in, gave his notice to leave the company, I realized he speaks Spanish for our office and patients, but once he leaves, we really have minimal alternatives to assist our patients whose native language is Spanish and who speak very limited English or none at all.

I decided I was going to learn Spanish (Lord, what the hell was I thinking??) and try to fill his shoes, not many can do that. I didn't even know basic words so this was starting at square one. Pedro has been very helpful with basic words but the fundamentals of Spanish are a major challenge for me. I will continue to work, learn, and practice but it will not be as fast as I was hoping for.

While being in LaPalma, I saw how nice the basic words helped. We went to order museum tickets and I could tell the lady I needed 2 tickets, Gracias and Hola for hello. Pedro taught me those words. I learned my numbers to 10 and good morning. We also have Kenny, our waiter at Chops, who taught me Agua for water. Thank you for all you do Pedro and Kenny. I love that I am slowly learning because of you.
