In March 2019, I went on my first cruise. It was a 4-day cruise for my birthday from Chris, and at the time, I didn't know what a cruise ship was or what cruising was because I had lived in a bubble as a kid, I guess. Never knew people got on a cruise ship to see the world. Once I did it, I fell in love. Peace at sea. Someone asked me once, "Aren't you afraid of the Titanic happening?" No, no I am not. Why? Because when I die, I want to be happy. Being on a ship in the middle of nowhere. Blissful happiness.
Today, we are going on our longest cruise. We have done 4, 6, 7, and 8 days but this is 13 days. I have been to the Caribbean, Mexico, and private islands, but this is Europe. Spain...... Barcelona! I am really excited. We have waited a year and a half for this trip and to be honest, I have done enough research, on Tenerife, I may retire there. Talk about peaceful
Our cruise ship is Explorer of the Seas and it is an older ship but we do love it. We ended up getting a Grand Suite this time. The balcony has room for 2 lounge chairs, where I plan on spending time reading and enjoying being by the water. We have a huge king bed and enough room so we do not trip over each other. Food is always good, (hence the girlish figure) and tonight is the comedian JR McCollom. One of the things I struggle with is I am up at 4am and in bed by 9:30pm every night.
I miss so much because of going to bed so early. I hope I can stay up each night and enjoy all the cruise has to offer. Many of the people on this cruise are older so they go to bed early. I will not be called a cotton top by my husband! (If you are not sure, cotton top means white-haired people)
Dinner is at 5:15 and we have a window seat!!
