There are many factors to being loyal to any one cruise line. The more you travel with the same line, the more perks you get. There are at least 5 or 6 levels with each line, some more than others. Each cruise line has its own perks, free items, a percentage off rooms, dining venues and services offered wi-fi, and more. When you are a Royal Caribbean fan, you hit the top tier, and you get 1 free, 7-day cruise for every 700 points.
Building points is different for each line as well. 1 point per night, suites give 2 points, purchases give another point and solo can rack up 3 points if you are in a suite or above.
There is nothing wrong with picking a cruise line based on price or ports. Before becoming a travel agent, we stayed loyal to 1 line. I look forward to trying new cruise lines and ships outside of Royal Caribbean.
